Project description
Ensuring the cybersecurity and privacy of autonomous, connected and cooperative mobility systems.
Launched in January 2021 for a period of 3 years with the support of ANSSI and the PFA (Platform for the French Automotive Industry), the objective of the TAM project is to secure and ensure trust in the data exchanged between vehicles and road infrastructure for the use cases of autonomous, connected and cooperative mobility, including in particular collective perception. It will also study the impact of cybersecurity on the operational safety and decision-making of the autonomous vehicle.
The TAM project is a continuation of the SCA (Secure Cooperative Autonomous systems) project which was completed in November 2020 and deals with use cases related to autonomous, connected and cooperative mobility by addressing 5 new challenges:
- Ensuring end-to-end safety, in a context of different stakeholders/operators and wireless multi-connectivity.
- Maintaining the Cooperative Intelligent Transport System in a safe condition throughout the life cycle of the vehicle.
- Extending the Misbehavior Detection system developed in the SCA project to new use cases.
- Guaranteeing the protection of the privacy of users and their data.
- Studying the impact of cybersecurity on the operating safety and decision-making of the autonomous vehicle.
A demonstrator in a real environment will be developed at the end of the project to evaluate and test the performance of the proposed solutions. These experiments could be enriched with evaluations by simulation, which will make it possible to understand the performance of the solutions on a large scale (on the scale of a city, for example).
Expected results
- Study of new use cases of autonomous, connected and cooperative cars and shuttles
- High level of safety maintained throughout the life cycle of autonomous cars and shuttles
- Evolution of the Misbehavior Detection solution developed in the SCA project and extending it to new use cases
- Definition of a common vision of privacy protection for cooperative ITS (intelligent transport systems)
- Study and evaluation of the impact of cybersecurity on operational safety
