LCE – Lyon Carsharing Experimentation
Project description
Develop a blockchain-based full solution designed to interconnect multiplecarsharing operators.
Launched in 2018, LCE (Lyon Carsharing Experimentation) is a three-year project based on the requalification of a 17km motorway stretch into an urban boulevard. It aims at improving flows and conditions on this strategic section which traffic is superior to 100.000 vehicles day. Metropolitan mobility stakes combine light vehicles traffic mitigation, reduction of pollutions and complementary modal offers.
The main challenge is to address single drivers which are a structural cause of traffic congestions, light vehicles occupancy rate being close to 1.05. Stimulating and supporting eco-responsible behaviours, contributing to air quality enhancement and the reduction of externalities are part of the expected impacts.
Daily home to work carsharing faces a limited development: one needs a sufficient volume of offers to reach a critical mass and make the service credible. LCE outcomes will deliver consolidated carsharing offers from different operators leading to high frequency service offer. This will dramatically contribute to reassure users on the service efficiency and credibility.
The challenge consists in proposing an effective mobility solution fit to incentive mobility behaviours’ evolutions.
Expected results
- Develop a blockchain-based platform designed to interconnect mutliple carsharing operators ;
- Develop dynamic regulation modules of carsharing lanes
- Develop an automated control solution
- Experiment all in sity solutions.
