SMD – Business Semantics for Multi-source Data Exploitation
Project description
Hybrid Artificial Intelligence
Launched in September 2021 for a period of 4 years, the Business Semantics for Multi-source Data Exploitation (SMD) project is the third project of the “Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Engineering” (AI2) research program. Its ambition is to develop and test, for knowledge management professions involved in the project, methods and that hybridize symbolic AI, the recent artificial methods (ex. Deep Learning) with the expert’s collaboration to build and exploit knowledge from heterogeneous multi-source data. These tools have the ambition to support expert decision in static or dynamic environments.
The challenge of this project is to prototype the ability to integrate and analyze very large volumes of unstructured, multi-source heterogeneous data to construct new, relevant, synthetic and interpretable knowledge that will help experts to make informed decisions, such as identifying ambiguities in the resulted ontologies, detecting weak signals or atypical situation, for example.
Expected results
The design of a platform based on methods hybridizing symbolic AI and recent artificial intelligence approaches (ex. Deep Learning) with business expert knowledge, to build new and intelligible knowledge from very large volumes of unstructured, heterogeneous and multi-source data, to present relevant recommendations for better decision-making.
