AFS – Agility and Fidelity of Simulations
Project description
Enhance agility and control fidelity in the design of complex physical systems.
Launched in September 2022 within the framework of the IA2 programme (Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Engineering) of the IRT SystemX, the AFS project brings together 4 industrial partners (ESI Group, Plastic Omnium, Groupe Renault and Stellantis) around a common ambition: develop new methodologies to enhance the performance of design cycles for complex physical systems through digital simulation. It is divided in two main pillars: enhanced agility of simulation processes for the design of complex systems and fidelity control of simulation models through the development of new metrics for improved decision-making.
Expected results
- Develop a tool-based methodology to reinforce the link between system architecture and digital simulation, and enhance agility in the design of complex systems.
- Develop a methodology to improve manufacturer/supplier collaboration in the design of complex systems.
- Standardize information exchange in design processes through simulation.
- Define a methodology to manage the fidelity of simulation models to control the reliability of simulation results.
- Develop new AI-based approaches to enhance the fidelity of digital simulation models (error modelling by the AI, calibrating models, etc.).
