The Anthropolis Chair, supported by IRT SystemX and CentraleSupélec, has extended its exploration work on the challenges of the tomorrow’s urban mobility for 4 years.
With the financial support and R&D involvement of 4 industrial partners (EDF, Engie, Nokia Bell Labs and the Renault Group) as well as the Paris-Saclay Agglomeration Community, the Chair will bring together a multidisciplinary team that will work on the current and future challenges of urban mobility by placing the human and the traveller at the core of their reflections. This work is a continuation of previous research carried out by the Chair on the development of eco-innovations for sustainable urban and peri-urban development, serving citizens and communities.
In this new phase, the Chair will build a vision of future mobility integrating the challenges of urban life (e.g. logistics, food, waste management, etc.). It will be a question of identifying, testing and validating fundamental methods and tools that allow us to take into account the needs of the citizen-user, the city and the community in the process of designing mobility systems and services. The chair will explore three complementary themes: future mobility and urban life, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), and infrastructures of the future. The approaches to be developed will be based on the need to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050 and to improve air quality in large cities, in accordance with the Paris Agreement. Thus, the chair will project its vision to horizons up to the years 2030, 2040 and 2050.
