SystemX is developing a new project on the topic of cloud computing & networks: the ARE “Architecture of Networks” project.
This project starts from the premise that the Internet architecture, designed over 30 years ago, is not ideally suited to today’s uses and applications and meets increasing difficulties to sustain traffic growth (about 40% per year). The ARE project is collocated at the IRT SystemX’s second site in Paris, within the framework of the strategic partnership signed with the LINCS (Laboratory of Information, Networking and Communication Sciences). It is thus part of an ecosystem of international research with industrial and academic stakeholders from around the world already working on this topic, and takes advantage of the many collaborative projects already underway in Europe, Asia and the United States. In particular, the ARE project is a continuation of the ANR CONNECT project where the partners already collaborated on the definition and evaluation of a content-oriented internet network.
